We’ve had a Busy and Eventful first half of the Year at Ambiel, as has the Music industry as a whole with some Inspirational legends crossing boundaries in a much more final sense than just creatively.
The circle of Art and Life means The Bowies, The Prince’s always live on, its impossible for them not to, and the work continues to flow in a positive direction through new inspired artists.
We have a lot of heavy new sounds to drop in the remainder of this year from many of our collective including Anderson, Carpe Diem, Beeba, Stan B, Amy McKnight, Deep, Cosha and Voodoo….
Expect many varying levels.
Following on from dropping his Goliath debut Album, Zealous Shield, Cosha Don has been featured in Wordplay Magazine’s first podcast for 2016.
Concerned with lyricism, Hip Hop and urban culture, Wordplay has always been a Bastion of true Artistry and Content.
Biggups to Wordplay for including Cosha in such illustrious company.
With the release of Cosha Dons debut album, Zealous Shield, UK based artist Natty Art has produced a limited edition set of Comic Illustrations to accompany the Hip Hop leviathan.
Natty’s distinctive graffiti infused imagery brings the Zealot to life as he struggles with the systemic oppression of a society in turmoil.
Voodoo Browne has been working hard recently on some forthcoming projects, one of which is this here Mixtape of the Browne Saucery variety.
The Browne Saucery Mixtape is a fresh dollop of experimental hip hop which blends together other musical genres, as did the album Browne Saucery, which was released back in 2011.
The BS mixtape continues where the album left us, The Browne Saucery Mixtape contains sounds from a few styles like classical, reggae, soul, rhythm and blues, rock, west coast hip hop and east coast hip hop influences.
Tracks like Big Shot offer a very positive message on top of a heavily reggae influenced riddim from INNERHEART featuring guest vocals from Irie J, both former members of the hit group Jah Warriors.
VBs Led Zeppelin mashup tracks, Complex and Few Of Dem Kno, have been through several studios prior to ending up in Voodoos hands. MC Random and Apakalips (LA based) had a hand in the backing tracks, which then found themselves in the hands of Dutch producer Mackadena, then finally resting with NJC and Voodoo…The end result is pure and utter devastation.
Track 9 is a guest appearance from Spanish lady of Hip Hop, Beat Gurrl, passing through with sick beat and snare production and strong riffs to break ya neck off. Bringing the heat during 2014 and finally gets a placement on the VB mixtape.
As usual throughout the mixtape VB provides us with a taste his witty sense of humour, through another collection of crazy skits, this splat of Browne Saucery is a sweet tangy flavoured mix of musical niceness, a little taster for everyone’s taste buds what ever your flavour. Bang! (Sniff).
ZEALOUS SHIELD ARRIVES.
Cosha Don has started the New Year off with a Bang of weighty proportions.
Featuring artists and producers from the deepest and dopest parts of the Hip Hop spectrum but…..
Who is Cosha Don?
Cosha Don is a UK based Hip Hop artist and lyricist. During the mid 90s Cosha Don aka Sean Foster started rocking mics at the tender age of 11 whilst collaborating with the Ipswich based HipHop collective Don Con aka Don Congregation. Regularly sneaked through fire doors to get his slot in the DC sets, this young MC started his career sharing stages with the likes of Blak Twang, The Arsonists, Skinnyman, Rodney P and many more.
It was these early years where he developed and nurtured his art-form with the guidance of the other members of the DC crew, including the likes of long time producer NJC (Ambiel) Krie aka Krie-ator (Don Wear Clothing) and partner in rhyme Voodoo Browne.
For the last 15 years Cosha has stuck true to his art and continued to develop his style, keeping it real to his musical roots. Expect straight up Hip Hop, Lyrical word-play and credible flows.
Cosha gives the listener tales about post apocalyptic worlds that have demented beings on attack, whilst calmly addressing real-life issues that have entered his own life. We guarantee anyone with a real taste for wordplay and lyricism will know this album cuts way above most in this current era of mic saturation.
With a diverse roll call, this album knocks hard, with vocal collabos from Black Chronicle & Voodoo Browne and heavyweight beats from Beat Butcher, NJC aka Carpe Diem, IGNEXUS, Deadpoole, HellzEcho, DJ Destruction and many more….
Time to listen. Zealous Shield has landed.
